Busy month on the links for Oakcreek lady golfers

There is so much good stuff to report on this month. Ladies, we rule!

The Arizona Women's Golf Association State Seniors Championship was held in September at Torreon Country Club in Show Low. 100 ladies from around the state played in this highly competitive event.

Caroline Wallis won 2nd low gross in the A flight, and Lori Zaun captured 2nd low net in the Championship flight.

Additional to that, the Oakcreek Ladies Golf Team, of which we are very proud, played in eight events against nine other Northern Arizona Clubs and took FIRST place! Go team go!

Three days of play were set aside for our Oakcreek Ladies Club Championship at the end of September and early October. And the winners are: LORI ZAUN Club Champion followed by Caroline Wallis, first place, flight A and Julie Larson, 2nd place flight A. Flight B had Susan Adkins capturing first place and Marion Maby taking 2nd place. Flight C was dominated by Inga Ano, first place and Becky Rubin taking 2nd.

BATTLE OF THE SEXES was played Oct. 12-13. Now I know the Men truly thought they were going to win again this year. But, the WOMEN were unstoppable and won the first day 18-1⁄2 to 17-1⁄2 and an overall Tournament score of 39 to 33! We Rock!

Kudos to all the ladies who participated in these events. It is a lot of golf, a lot of pressure, but most importantly, a lot of fun. The spirit of play and camaraderie among the women is something very special.
