Arnold McLean 1919 - 2010
Arnold McLean passed away at the age of 91 at his home in Cottonwood, Arizona, on September 14, 2010, following a long battle with cancer.
Arnie was born in Superior, Wisconsin, on May 6, 1919, and he grew up with his brother Mickey and sister Muriel in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Kansas.
In 1942, he married Eleanor Hedin in Minnesota and they had two daughters before moving to Southern California in 1951. Two sons were added to the family in 1957 and 1958.
Arnie and Eleanor remained in Southern California (except for a 15-month period when they lived in Sweden) until retirement, when they moved back to Minnesota before finally settling in Cottonwood, Arizona, in 2001. Arnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was very industrious and enjoyed working with his hands and helping others, as evidenced by his volunteer work at the Food Bank of Cottonwood.
Arnie is survived by four children: Karin Johnson of Berlin, Maryland, Kathy Case of Redding, California, Dan McLean of Phoenix, Arizona, and Gary McLean of Tijuana, Mexico, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Mickey McLean of Minnesota.
Arnie was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Eleanor McLean, who passed away in December 2009; and his sister Muriel Lee.
A memorial service was held Saturday, September 18, at the Cottonwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 51 West Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Please share your condolences at www.buelerfamilyfuneralhome.com
