Crystal Enlightenment presents Earth Day Celebration
In honor of Earth Day, Crystal Enlightenment on the Creek will host a day of entertainment including drumming with Three Trees from 1-3 p.m. and belly dancing by the D.O.L.L.S. with Dana Simmons, Holly Luka and Harmony Burke beginning at 3 p.m.
Festivities will continue until 7 p.m.
Crystal Enlightenment on the Creek is located at 321 Hwy. 179.
"Our intention for this new endeavor is for Crystal Enlightenment to be a beacon of healing light for Sedona. We are creating an environment of peaceful, loving energy, where people from all spiritual, or religious backgrounds are welcome, and can enjoy this sacred space." said co-owner, Michael Baird. "We are located just north of the bridge as visitors drive into town on Hwy 179. This area is a gateway into Sedona. We were inspired to pursue this project, when we learned that TLAQ Partners LLC had purchased the property, and that we would be able to participate in renovations."
The building that houses Crystal Enlightenment was originally a residence, and it rests on a beautiful site on Oak Creek. For many years the building housed Sedona's first metaphysical/spiritual store.
"We are in the process of developing a peaceful meditation garden in the backyard," said Laurelle Gaia, Baird's wife and business partner. "We are very grateful to Roberta Kinion for her gardening expertise, as she oversees this project for us, and for her dedicated efforts in helping us with daily operations of the center. Phenomenal crystal specimens will be a part of the garden. Both Michael and I are mesmerized by the natural beauty of crystals and gemstones. They are such a glorious part of God's creation. It seemed appropriate to host this Grand Opening on Earth Day."
With over 25 years experience studying and practicing spiritual and complementary healing methods, Gaia has explored the healing properties of crystals and gemstones. She teaches crystal healing classes which are attended by students from around the world.
Among the many healing sessions offered at Crystal Enlightenment are; prayer healing, holistic massage, Reiki, reflexology, IET, sound healing, transformational astrology and psychic readings.
Crystals, gifts, books, art and healing gemstone jewelry are available in the shop. Customers will also find items to enhance their enjoyment of their own outdoor living areas, including bird houses, hand-tuned wind chimes and gardening books.
Among the paintings, sculpture and other gallery pieces offered in the store, are creations by local artists; Bearcloud, Nicki Smith Wilder, SuSun Lovit, Dale Furguson, Valerie Irons, Paul Lawrence Curtis, Miro Fitzgerald and Divorah Curtis.
During the ceremony, Sedona will be introduced to "Intrinity" a 10-foot high sculpture designed by Fred Shute, and bronze crafted by Ed Riley of Prescott.
The Intrinity is a three-dimensional sacred geometry mandala based on the number three. It is composed of three essential elements; the circle (the ancient symbol of oneness), the triangle (the ancient symbol of the Trinity of man i.e. body, mind and soul), and the Triskele from New Grange Ireland-the ancient symbol of the transformation of man.
Triskele also represents progress, action, forward motion; as well as body-mind-spirit, father-son-holy spirit, mother-father-child, past-present-future, and power-intellect-love.
When Triskeles connect around the circle with the inner triangle they create a triple infinity. Thus the trinity and the triple infinity is named Intrinity.
When set into a spinning motion the Intrinity sculpture reveals a star tetrahedron/merkabah which represents an essential component of alchemical thought.
Merkabah, is also considered by some as a vehicle through which one is able to access the higher realms of consciousness, or the seventh heaven. The word merkabah is mentioned 44 times in the Old Testament, and is often associated with Ezekiel's vision.
When viewed from a certain perspective the Intrinity sculpture also reveals an image of the human heart, nearly biologically correct.
The Intrinity was originally created as a piece of jewelry by Frederick Shute in Sedona in 2001. Now with the vision and expertise of Ed Reilly, owner of Bronzesmith Gallery in Prescott Valley, a sculpture of Intrinity spinning on a pyramidal base can be seen at Crystal Enlightenment.
Both Baird and Gaia wish to express their gratitude to other dedicated helpers and staff, Lisa Ohman, Billie Jean Conigliaro, Chris Parker, Tonya Hardesty, Mary Langlois, Arthur Baird, Jaime and Wendy of Florange Signs and the many gifted healers and psychics who share their gifts through Crystal Enlightenment on the Creek.
