Weight-loss competitors lookin' great
COTTONWOOD - The Lookin' Good Cottonwood weight loss competition ended this week after 3 months of hard work and plenty of shed pounds. Over 100 people stuck with the competition and lost 2,000 pounds total, a full ton of weight.
Weigh-ins were held each week with prizes awarded each week to the person with the greatest percentage of weight loss for that week. The person with the greatest overall percentage of weight-loss at the end of the competition won $3,000.
The winner lost 66 pounds, nearly a third of his body weight. Hilton Ishimoto, 57, started the competition at 209 pounds and finished at 142 pounds.
"Everyone did really well," said Heather Klomparens, the Fitness Center supervisor for the Cottonwood Recreation Center.
A celebration was held Wednesday night at the Rec Center and prizes were awarded
