COTTONWOOD -- "Have Gun, Will Travel" ranks among the best western TV shows of all times, thanks in no small part to the theme song, "The Ballad of Paladin." The evocative song's originator, music legend Johnny Western, will visit Blazin' M Ranch on Friday, April 29.

Anyone who's ever imagined being a cowboy has the music of Johnny Western woven through his dreams.

Elected to the Western Music Association Hall of Fame in 2001, Western's career began at the age of 13 on the radio; he is acclaimed by Billboard magazine as American radio's youngest disc jockey and singer.

He shared the stage with such celebrities as Gene Autrey, the Son's of the Pioneers and Johnny Cash, and co-wrote songs for such legendary television shows as "Bonanza" and "The Rebel."

Backed by the enthusiastic Blazin' M Cowboys, Western plans on performing two of his beloved hits. The show will follow the always excellent barbecue dinner served at the Ranch. For tickets, please call 800-937-8643. Gates open at 5 p.m..

The Blazin' M Ranch is located at 1875 Mabery Ranch Road, Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Situated on the banks of the Verde River and adjacent to Dead Horse Ranch State Park, the Blazin' M Ranch is just minutes from the Verde Canyon Railroad depot, 25 minutes from Sedona and two hours north of Phoenix.
