This week at Grace Lutheran Church
Sunday Service at Grace Community Lutheran Church, 5100 Stevenson, Rimrock, is at 10:30 a.m.
I have been feeling a bit under the weather this week. If I was a horse they would say I am off my feed. While it is nothing serious it was enough to change my priorities for the week.
Everyone of us has our priorities as we go about our lives. Sometimes things cause those priorities to change and we have to change our plans for the day or week.
As Christians we would say God is a priority in our lives. As a priority how does God fit into your life? This question could be answered in many different ways. How we spend our Sundays or how much time we spend in prayer or how much time we spend talking to others about God are some of the various ways that God fits into our lives.
A different way to look at it would be to recognize the kinds of things that displace God from our priorities.
I am not thinking in terms of church attendance here. The events and problems of our lives that normally come along can cause us to forget about God or at least put Him on the back burner at the wrong time.
It is so easy to think that we have to do this or get that done, that we forget to have a daily relationship with God. Or sometimes when in a bad mood God is totally forgotten.
This is not the kind of God we have. He wants to interact with us every day.
He has told us to pray about everything. The Bible teaches us that He knows and cares about the smallest detail of our lives. We miss out on a tremendous source of strength when we try and do everything by ourselves. God has proven His love for us with the gift of His Son on the cross. My prayer this week is that
we all take advantage of the companionship that God desires with us during all the times of our lives.
