This week at Grace Lutheran Church
Grace Community Lutheran Church in Rimrock has Sunday Bible Study at 9:30 a.m., followed by Worship at 10:30 a.m.
As we move from Easter and spring into the summer season it often happens that the change and newness of the season wears off and things become routine. Routine and the accompanying boredom that can come with it are a common experience in our world. Another day, another dollar, another problem to solve is more the norm rather than the exception.
This is something that can happen in our faith journey as well. The church life can become very routine for us as well. Things do not change very fast in the church and can seem pretty routine just like the rest of our lives. Is this because God is boring or has nothing new to offer? I think not. First we can be thankful that God is always there to offer us His forgiveness. We routinely sin and He routinely offers forgiveness, hope, and peace for our lives.
If our lives outside of our relationship with God seem routine or boring it might make a difference to involve Him a bit more. If you look at God’s creation you can get a sense of how He is. From the land around us full of mountains and canyons to the wonders of outer space we see His creation in all its beauty and vastness. And God tells us in the bible that He knows and cares for each of us within this creation.
If we are bored with the routine of our lives perhaps we need to involve this amazing God more in our everyday life. A problem can become an adventure, a hurt an opportunity to share God’s love. If you stop and think about it, really think about it, a life with God as an integral part of it would not be routine or boring. Ponder God’s presence and purpose in your life this week. It could make a very important difference in your everyday life.
