Cottonwood Ranch recognizes more outstanding properties
Three homeowners were recognized at the May meeting of the Cottonwood Ranch Board for their outstanding properties.
Selected by the Neighborhood Pride Committee, the first place award for spring 2011 went to Joann Grant, 252 S. Maverick Way. She received a plaque from the Ranch Board and her name will be included in the permanent plaque located in the Clubhouse. Joann moved to Cottonwood in 1997 from southern Illinois. She enjoys the beautiful view of Mingus Mountain from her patio.
Receiving Honorable Mention for the spring quarter were Irmgard Schwabe, 277 S. Wild Horse Way, and Harry & Dixie Goodman, 305 S. Buckskin Circle. They each received a framed certificate and photographs of their homes are on display at the Clubhouse.
Irmgard moved to Cottonwood in 1999 from Florida with her husband, Roy, who passed away in 2004. She enjoys gardening and hiking in the Verde Valley.
Harry & Dixie relocated to Cottonwood in 2001. Prior to the relocation, they lived in Kentucky and Tennessee. They wintered in Phoenix with their son before deciding to move to Cottonwood. Harry enjoys gardening and Dixie volunteers at the local hospital.
In 2009, The Cottonwood Ranch Board implemented the Neighborhood Pride Program as a means to recognize and reward homeowners who have maintained a high standard for their property. This includes outstanding landscaping, neat appearance and excellent curb appeal. The Board recognized the value in keeping properties in excellent condition, especially with the current real estate situation.
Nominations by Ranch neighbors, as well as the committee, will be reviewed in July for the summer quarter. Nominations are due by July 15.
