The quiet hour

Like fall and the preparation for the winter rest, I have always enjoyed the last minutes of the day as earth and creatures drift into darkness and the quiet of the night. Birds settle in to their roosts for the night, predators of the night are on the prowl. We turn the lights on, prepare meals and for rest. The earth continues its revolutions on its axis and the circumnavigation of the sun in its orbit and our solar system continues in its fifth circumnavigation of our galaxy the milky way with a predicted four more before it is extinguished ... life goes on ... for now.

I took this shot of Sedona in early October. The airport is on the left side of the photo, Cathedral Rock is right of and just above center and the chapel area is behind it. The village is to the far right and Jacks Canyon and Pine Valley are above center on the right/ The Colorado Plateau is above the rocks of Sedona. The red rock area is a relatively small area, but from the ground it seems bigger because we are small.

Our daughter and her family are arriving in Sedona about now and in not that many hours Ted, Sus and the delightful Miss Annika shall arrive at our home. A wonderful weekend is in store for us and we hope that yours is equally blessed.

Take care, be well, be a blessing.

So each one to his wish, and as for me,

I sit tonight and wait

To find the answers to my soul in me,

And in the beauty of the sky and sea.
