Maralyn J. Hommedal Boardman, 80, of Cottonwood passed away on April 21, 2012. She was born April 30, 1931 in Dupree, South Dakota to Herman and Gladys Hommedal. Moved to Minnesota when 5 years old. Graduated from Rochester high School in 1949 and Hamline University in 1953. Maralyn taught Physical Education in Robinsdale School District.

Moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, in 1977, Rimrock in 1991, and then Cottonwood in 2005. Maralyn was a Girl and Boy Scout Leader and Youth Director at Church in Plymouth, Minnesota. In Flagstaff sang in Trinity Heights UMC Church Choir and volunteered at FMC and Goodwill. After moving to Rimrock became involved with the CVUMC, the Jewel House and NACOG. A member of the P.E.O Chapter I Jerome. The past 6 years she attended, and participated in activities at Mountain View UMC.

Maralyn loved the outdoors, camping, canoeing, sailing, skiing, hiking, and attending her grandchildren's activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlan S. "Larry" Boardman, Brother Herman and Sister Kathleen, as well as parents. She leaves her daughter Kathy Fink of Colorado City, Colorado, son Randy Boardman (Joni) of Clarkdale, nieces and nephews, and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Mountain View United Methodist Church, in Cottonwood on May 5th at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Mountain View UMC, Verde Valley Community Hospice, or the American Diabetes Association.
