It works

... the new lens I have on loan from Canon is truly fun to shoot with; it is light weight and total rig weighs a little over ten pounds which is very manageable for my style of handheld shooting ... also it is big so I look like I might know what I am doing ... I shall never tell. Anyhow, couldn't wait to get down to Bubbling Ponds and give it a try. As I passed the restaurant I saw a couple of Bald Eagles perched at the top of a tree on the west side of the ponds. Got into the parking lot and input settings I thought would work as I headed down towards their perch. I was still a ways off when a squall line of showers hit and that got the eagles to leave their perch and head for some shelter. I got quite a few shots of them in the air including this one just after he had left the perch. Check that cutlery out; the talons look to be at least an inch and a half long . The winds were blowing, the weather a little nasty and memories of hunting in the sloughs and river bottoms returned. Next it was off to the new wet lands and then home.

The ISO 100 group met tonight and food and company were excellent as were the photographs presented by several of our members. Lots of leftovers from the dishes that everyone brought over and that bodes well for our diet the next several days.

Time to pack it in for the night; Friday and the weekend are here ... be back Monday morning and maybe with some snow shots ... it is cold and there is precipitation right now. Have fun, share the beauty of your life with others ... and smile.
