Melvin D. Boda 1929 - 2011
“Life is a flicker of an eyelash”
Melvin David Boda was born January 24, 1929 in Fon du Lac Wisconsin. He entered into the Navy in 1946 and served 3 years. He then married his life time mate of 60 years and moved to Southern California where they lived and raised 3 children for the next 30 years.
Mel retired after working 30 years as a top salesman for Bridgford Foods. He and his wife moved to Cottonwood, AZ where they had built a home in 1994 and they celebrated their final years there for 17 years.
Mel is survived by his sister, Marlene Fiekema of Garden Grove, CA; his two sons Steven Boda of San Jose, CA and Mark Boda of Phelan, CA and his daughter, Renee Olson of Cottonwood, AZ.
“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, and the Spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 12 noon. A reception will follow in the funeral home reception room. VFW Post 7400 will provide military honors.
