Sedona Labs issues recall of dietary supplements
Sedona Labs today announced that its supplier of Galactooligosaccharide (GOS) has recalled this ingredient due to a possible Salmonella contamination. As a result, are now voluntarily recalling certain lots of our iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® and iFlora 4-Kids Powder distributed between March 16, 2011, and May 3, 2012.
Salmonella is a germ which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the germ getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses.
Customers possessing these products should immediately discontinue their use. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® or iFloraTM 4-Kids Powder.
iFlora® Kids Multi-Probiotic® has been sold at the following local retailers:
Mount Hope 853 S Main St., Cottonwood, AZ
New Frontiers (#5) 1420 W. Hwy 89A, Sedona, AZ
Sedona labs is not based in Sedona although some of their products were sold in Sedona.
