Mingus Union free lunch in Cottonwood, Camp Verde
"We are sponsoring the USDA funded summer food service program again this summer at Mingus Union High School and two other locations in Camp Verde," said Pamela Iose, Nutrition Services Director at Mingus.
The summer free lunch program is funded through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). It is open to any child 18 and under. The program runs for four or more weeks from May 30 through June 26.
Each year, the USDA enters partnerships with local organizations, such as MUHS to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
There are no income requirements to qualify for the free lunch program. Any child, 18 and under can eat a free lunch.
MUHS has also partnered with the New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene in Camp Verde and the Yavapai-Apache Summer Youth Program to serve free lunches at all three locations.
Mingus Union will serve the free lunch in the school cafeteria at 1801 E. Fir St. from 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday beginning May 30.
New Beginnings will serve the lunch at 644 S. 7th St. in Camp Verde from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning June 4 and ending June 26.
The free lunch will be served at the Yavapai-Apache Youth Program at 2400 West Datsi in Camp Verde Monday through Thursday from June 4 through June 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
