Another fatal collision involving motorcycle in West Sedona
SEDONA -- Sedona has recorded its second motorcycle fatality in a week. Both victims died in separate accidents on separate days within blocks of each other.
Just before 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon, a car was turning left from a private drive onto westbound SR 89A near Dry Creek Road. The westbound motorcyclist crashed into the vehicle that pulled into his lane. The motorcyclist was killed in the accident. He is identified as 67-year-old Desi Havasi of Sedona. Police Commander Ron Wheeler says the investigation is ongoing.
One day before, 81-year-old John Franklin Conrad, another Sedona motorcyclist, was killed in a West Sedona collision Wednesday one-half mile to the east. The biker, reportedly was in a travel lane, when a another vehicle pulled out of a business into the motorcycle's path. Conrad was changing lanes at the time and crashed into the car. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
