Duane Norris of Camp Verde, passed away peacefully in his sleep on his 85th birthday, November 8, 2012.

Another WWII veteran of the greatest generation has gone home to the Lord.

He attended The Spoken Word Tabernacle. Duane “Whitey” was born in Findlay, Ohio, where some of his family lives.

He leaves behind two daughters Debie Allen of Texas, and Dottie Presmyk of Camp Verde. Grandpa said goodbye to 15 grandkids & 26 great grandkids, 3 sisters Sandy Harper (OK), Bonnie Rettig (OH) & Nora Golf (OH) and a brother Larry Norris (OH).

He is preceded in death by a daughter Pam Willis and wife Carol.

Duane served in the Army as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division, 187th glider Infantry Reg. Duane worked as a truck driver and mechanic most of his life, but was jack-of-all-trades.

He volunteered at the local church helping distribute food plus boxes for years.

We will miss you, Dad. You instilled compassion, hard work, and a love of all that is good and right. We will meet you on the other side.
