Obituary: Daniel M. McVay 1916 - 2012
Mr. Daniel M. McVay, long-time resident of the Chapel Bells are of Sedona, died peacefully of natural causes on September 27, 2012. He was 96 years old. Dan was born in Nebraska. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an engineer and cartographer with the United States Forest Service. He began his work in the mountains and forests of western Montana and finished it as the director of a nationwide program for accurately measuring and recording the boundaries of public lands managed by the Forest Service. He is survived by his daughter, Janet McVay of Cottonwood; his son, Gerald McVay of Missoula, Montana; his granddaughter, Susannah Ries of Missoula, Montana; his grandson, Collin McVay of Albany, Oregon and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the chapel of Bueler Camp Verde Funeral Home, 143 W. Arnold Street, Camp Verde.
