Guided Nature Walks and Activities - Daily, 10 am & 2 pm: In the morning, join a naturalist-led guided nature walk to learn about the riparian ecosystem of Oak Creek, including plants, wildlife, geology, history, and archaeology.  In the afternoon, there is a guest speaker or naturalist-led activity.  Red Rock State Park, 4050 Lower Red Rock Loop Road, Sedona.  928-282-6907.

Loven Family Run - 4/6, 8 am: The event features a family 2K run/walk, 5K run/walk and a 10K run. Registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K; fees for the 2K family run are $50 for up to four family members or $20 for individual participants. Cowboy Cookout - 4/6, 3 pm: Enjoy great cowboy cooking, entertainment and stories of how the town was "way back when" from folks who lived it.  Bring a lawn chair to sit on. Tickets are $25. This event is limited to 100 ticket holders. Clarkdale Museum, 900 First North, Clarkdale. 928-649-1198.

Monday at the Museum - 4/8, 11 am: Featuring the Verde Valley Woodcarvers. With about 30-35 members meeting weekly. They have carvers at all levels -beginners to master carvers- who do in-the-round carving, relief carving, chip carving, and found wood and bark carving. The public is invited to come by and watch these artisans at work. There is no fee for this demonstration. $5 admission is separate. Relay For Life Benefit Dance - 4/13, 7 pm: The Cottonwood Roadrunners will be hosting the 11th Annual Benefit Square and Round dance for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Geology Hike - 4/14, 2 pm: Join an experienced guide who leads a hike focusing on the area's geology. Moonlight Hike - 4/25, Sunset: led by a naturalist, giving hikers a rare opportunity to enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon.  Wear suitable clothing and shoes; bring water, a flashlight and insect spray.  Reservations required.
