Obituary: Tom Willcutt

Tom Willcutt, age 92, of Cottonwood passed away December 3, 2013 at home surrounded by his family that he loved so much.

Born in Snowball, Arkansas to William and Cora Ethel Willcutt, he was an eighty-six year resident of Arizona. He spent most of his life, from a young age, in farming and ranching and as a park ranger for Arizona State Parks in Jerome. A member of The Greatest Generation, he bravely served our country as a medical assistant in the US Army in France during WW11 and during the Korean conflict. In recent years, he enjoyed his time as a volunteer at Verde Valley Medical Center, Verde Valley Senior Center and Dead Horse State Park. He taught himself to play the guitar and was a member of the Arizona Old Time Fiddlers. He and his wife Betty traveled the US in their travel trailer and he loved to fish and camp, as well as visit with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was known as a gentle, kind and loving man with a good-natured sense of humor and will be missed by all.

Tom is survived by his wife Betty, children Kathy Larson (Dick) of Pine, AZ  and Tom Willcutt, Jr. of Ahwatukee, AZ; grandchildren Steve Epperson, Jr. (Tahona) of Cottonwood, Christa Helgeson of Gilbert, Bethany Johnson of Mount Vernon, WA, Dallas Willcutt of Oak Harbor, WA, and Trinity Redling (Derek) of Sedro Woolley WA; great-grandchildren Tasili and Dezi Epperson, D.J. Daluz and Orlando Russell, Cole and Quinn Helgeson, Stephen Willcutt, Chloe and Colin Redling; sister Hazel Beene (Carl) of Oklahoma. Sister Inez Cook predeceased him.
