Manuel Salcido

Manuel Salcido, 65, of Peoria, Ariz., passed away on Jan. 18, 2013. He was born Sept. 21, 1947, the son of Manuel and Celia (Monarrez) Salcido. Manuel graduated from Globe High School and worked as a mechanic before retiring.

Manuel was funny, kind, giving and a good teacher. He loved being with family and friends and talking about the Bible. He loved eating out, trying new things and travel. He enjoyed watching the History Channel and the Food Network. He liked to cook and try out new recipes. He liked baseball, car races and watching all kinds of sports. He was a good listener and advisor. He could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He enjoyed the love of his wife, Kathleen, for 12 years before her passing in August, 2012. Though they only had 12 years here on earth, they are together now forever. He loved life and the promise of the Lord. Manuel is preceded in death by his father, Manuel L. Salcido; brother, Paul M. Salcido; and his wife, Kathleen Salcido. He is survived by his children, Deborah Kohm (Ray), Lisa Cuellar (Tom), and Jennifer Alonzo; his brother and sister, Albert Salcido and Vivian Wilson; as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
