Cottonwood Fire Dept. assists Prescott
The Cottonwood Fire Department assisted the City of Prescott this week by sending an engine company and crew to man a Prescott Fire Station for 24 hours.
"We responded to a request for aid to man Prescott Fire Stations so that their crews could attend to the needs of family members of the 19 Prescott Fire Department members comprising the Granite Mountain Hot Shots that lost their lives fighting the Yarnell Fire," said Fire Chief Mike Kuykendall. "Other fire departments from throughout Arizona have also been assisting Prescott since last week by manning their Fire Stations during this difficult time for Prescott Fire Department.
"Our engine and crew was assigned to Prescott Station #3 located at the Prescott Airport. Our crew responded to five emergency calls during their 24-hours shift in Prescott.'
The Cottonwood crew included Lt. Jeff Boyd and firefighters Alex Lewis and Joe Odell.
"Our crew did an outstanding job of helping our neighbors and their assistance brought thanks from the City of Prescott and the Prescott Fire Department," the chief said.
