Seatbelts spare woman in rollover

SEDONA -- Just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, Montezuma-Rimrock crews were dispatched to MP 305, north of the Sedona Interchange, for a one-vehicle rollover accident.

A 20-year-old woman was the only one in the car. Fortunately, she was seat-belted at the time of the accident and was able to get out of the wreckage by herself before rescue crews arrived.

The occupant suffered only minor complaints and refused further treatment.

A Good Samaritan who stopped to assist saw the woman's vehicle have a blowout on a rear tire and then roll onto the shoulder.

Capt. Tim White says another reminder that seatbelts prevent serious injuries.
