Sedona Giclée Gallery showcases photography of Ted Grussing
Naturalist. Attorney. Author. Pilot. Businessman. Gem Cutter. Father. Caregiver. Few people have taken as many disparate paths in life as the multi-talented Ted Grussing.
And for Grussing, doing so was more than just natural - it was destiny. A more conventionally focused journey would simply not have sufficed, not for a spirit so keen on adventure and a mind so ravenous for knowledge.
But throughout all of the divergence in his life, one constant has been Grussing's lifelong passion for the art of Photography. His interest in it arose when he was 9 years old, and persisted alongside all of his successive careers and pursuits.
By the age of 14, he not only had his own darkroom, he was undertaking professional photography assignments. Since then, Grussing's mastery of the medium has continued to grow throughout his adult life.
The results are now on display in Sedona for all to see. Sedona Giclée Gallery, in the Harkins Theater Plaza, is proud to announce that many of Grussing's finest works are on exhibit at the venue.
Grussing is the gallery's featured artist during the month of May.
"My work is focused on the beauty that surrounds each of us every day," Grussing says. "The beauty is there for all to see if you but take the time to look, and this is the vision I share with others."
Grussing's subjects include majestic aerial landscapes, wildlife, and flowers, plus imaginative, dreamlike composite images. His prints are crafted with a virtuosity springing from many decades of study and practice, and the excellence of his work has been acknowledged by the editors of Arizona Highways Magazine and many other publications that have featured his images.
As a photographer, Grussing puts his love of flying and his skill as a pilot to good use. "My motor glider becomes an aerial tripod and shooting platform to capture beauty such as few others - even those who are pilots - get to see," he notes. "It is my joy to share these sights with others through my photography."
Sedona Giclée Gallery is located at 2055 W. State Route 89A, Suite B, near the Harkins Theaters, and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
