Cottonwood PD to establish Law Enforcement Hero Statue

Cottonwood Police are looking for financial support for the placement of a Law Enforcement Hero Statue to be placed at the entrance to the Cottonwood Police station.

The statue will honor law officers who have lost their lives while on duty and also in respect of current and retired officers.

Commander Gary Eisenga says the statue will be funded solely by private and corporate donations. The statue will stand as a memorial to law enforcement officers who have not only lost their lives in the line of duty but will honor all current and retired law enforcement officers.

The group hopes to raise $65,000 within the year and then unveil the statue one year from now during "National Police Week."
