Free diabetes and heart screenings

Verde Valley residents have access to free diabetes and heart screenings through the Northern Arizona Diabetes - Heart Connection and Diabetes Together programs. The free screenings are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays at Verde Valley Medical Center. Call (928) 639-6509 for an appointment.

Verde Valley Archaeological Society meets

The December meeting of the Verde Valley Archaeological Society will be held at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Road, Sedona, at 6:30 p.m. Please note the new date and time. There will be a short business meeting, including election of officers, but the main part of the meeting will be given over to our annual social event to celebrate the various seasonal holidays. So show off your culinary skills and bring your favorite dish - appetizer, main dish, or dessert - and we can all share!

Dan Engler performs for Historical Society

The Cornville Historical Society is pleased to announce that singer songwriter Dan Engler will present a program of folk music titled "Simply Stated and Simply Played," at the Society's eighth annual holiday fund-raiser at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, at Oak Creek School, 11490 East Purple Sage Road in Cornville. The event will feature the popular holiday gift basket raffle, which has become a local tradition; and a big array of holiday refreshments. All proceeds will support the Cornville Historical Society.
