Vincent Z takes stage this week at Living Room Music Series at CPL
The Center for Positive Living Sedona (aka CPL Sedona), located in the Village of Oak Creek at 45 Castle Rock Road, has created a concert series that they call, the Living Room Music Series at CPL Sedona.
CPL Sedona's seating is limited to 40 comfortable chairs, with a stage platform and excellent sound system. These concerts are allowing for an intimate, up close and personal showcase with some of the finest performing artists in Sedona and the Verde Valley every Wednesday from 7-8:15 p.m.
Unlike any music venues in Sedona, audience members will have the opportunity to learn about the artists by asking questions of them during their concert.
Shondra Jepperson, half of the popular entertainment duo Tom & Shondra and CPL Sedona's music director and founder of this concept commented, "Robin Miller was with us last week and I learned so much about the person behind the music. It was like Robin was in our own home, telling us personal stories about his songs, the process of his compositions and it was a very personal experience for all of us. As an artist myself, it's very unique to be able to share your insights, take questions as you perform each song in your concert. The audience loved it and so did Robin." CPL Sedona also offers on-going Sunday celebrations at 10 a.m. with inspirational talks and music. For more information visit CplSedona.org.
This week, Wednesday, Oct. 9, , the Living Room Music Series at CPL Sedona will feature the very talented French musician/singer Vincent Z, who will be performing his own eclectic blend of live acoustic world music with a combination of swing, blues, samba, Cuban Rumbas, Standards and many other styles of music in different languages.
Questions from the audience are encouraged during his concert.
Next Wednesday, Oct. 16, audiences will engage with folk singer songwriter Dan Engler, also known to the Verde Valley as the Editor of Verde Valley Newspapers and the director of the second annual Kudos Folk Music Showcase on Oct. 26 so mark your calendar for both concert nights.
Dan's program is called "Simply Stated and Simply Played."
He will perform his original folk music and talk about folk music origins and his own song-writing process. In addition, he will share songs from the deepest corners of the Americana-Roots-Folks music treasure chest.
Engler pens his own original story-telling songs that reflect his life experiences over the past 40 years in Arizona.
His songs combine wit, wisdom and an uncanny knack for expressing real-life-truths. His straight-forward guitar playing adds a folksy counterpoint to his "down home" lyrics.
An avid student of music and the icons of folk, rock, and blues, Dan's observations are reflected in the crafting of his songs, flavored with metaphor and experience from his 40 years in Arizona and the Southwest.
"My music is simply stated and simply played," said Engler. "They are more stories than songs and the hope is they are shared in a way through which the listener can see some aspect of their own life."
