Beauty, Rubio, Fox sworn into Yavapai-Apache office
CAMP VERDE - The Yavapai-Apache Nation held the swearing-in ceremony for Chairman Thomas Beauty, Vice Chairwoman Darlene Rubio and Tribal Councilwoman Mamie Fox on Thursday, October 9 at the Yavapai-Apache Nation Administrative Complex. Beauty, Rubio and Fox each won a three-year term during the Nation General Election in September.
"I want to thank everyone who supported me throughout this election journey. I come from the people. I am here today because of spiritual belief and my belief in the Lord. He has a plan for me, and he has put me here to serve my people. I love my people, and the opportunity to lead my people and make a difference in the lives of our tribal members is a huge honor, and I respect the confidence that my people have in me to lead our Tribal Council, tribal programs and community. The Nation's constitution, our constitution, clearly states, we are here for the general welfare of the people, and I strongly believe that everything we do, must reflect our constitution and the constitutional principle of making decisions for the general welfare of our people," stated Chairman Thomas Beauty.
Chairman Beauty and Vice Chairwoman Rubio were elected to serve as the Nation's chief executives in the in Executive Office for the next three years. Together, they are responsible for the oversight and management of the tribal government, as well as providing executive leadership to the Tribal Council.
