If you enjoy watching movies, the Yavapai Library Network boasts an extensive collection of DVDs, including new releases, classics, foreign films, and television series.

In fact, library patrons currently have access to 33,286 DVDs in the Yavapai Library Network, and new releases are added frequently.

You can view the DVD collection by browsing the Sedona Library catalog through our homepage at .  Select "Books & More," and then "Catalog Search." Hint: The advanced search page gives you options for narrowing your search.

For instance, if you enter "2012" in the publication date field and choose DVD as your format, you'll see the films released last year. Also accessible from our web site is a list of award-winning films from the Sedona International Film Festival.  In addition, you may view a list of movies that were filmed in Sedona.  If you still can't find the movie you are looking for, you may suggest a purchase.

Along with movies, the Library has television series available for circulation. These TV series are very popular with library patrons.  In fact, I am going to borrow seasons 1--3 of  "Downton Abbey" from the Library.  After my "Downton Abbey" marathon, I will be caught up on the series and ready for the fourth season, which begins in January.

To learn more about the DVD collection, call or stop by the Library. Please keep in mind that the Library cannot guarantee when you will receive any item that you have placed on hold. The more popular the item, the longer you may have to wait.

Upcoming library events:

Are you interested in quilting? View the Hopi Quilt Exhibit on display at Sedona Public Library Nov. 4-30. These quilts will be for sale, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Sedona Public Library in the Village.

An artists' reception will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 5-7 p.m. at SPL-V.
