Cottonwood Public Library Summer Activities
The Summer Reading Program at the library starts on June 2nd and runs through the week of July 21st. This year's themes are "Fizz! Boom! Read!" for the children, and "Spark a Reaction!" for the teenagers. It includes six weeks full of science related crafts for tots, children, and teens. It also includes six different science related presentations, including a presentation on a 3-D Printer by the Arizona State Library's Chris Guerra. Readers who have registered for the Summer Reading Program will earn weekly prizes, and the top readers will be able to enjoy a pool party at the Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Center.
Monday Gaming Madness, every Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Tiny Tot Time, every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.; Music Together, every 1st Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in May and June; Teen Library Council (TLC) every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.; Preschool Storytime, every 1st, 2nd, and 4th Thursday at 10:00 a.m.; Tiny Tot Craft, every 1st, 2nd, and 4th Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and every 3rd Thursday at 11:00 a.m.; Zoinka!, every 3rd Thursday at 10:00 a.m.; Family Game Day, every Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Family Craft Hour, every Friday at 4:00 p.m.; Saturday Morning Cartoons, every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Kids Crafts, every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.; Twisted Teen Time, every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 p.m.; and the Special Presentations will be every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
Teens are welcome to come in any time and check out the Hideaway, the upstairs mezzanine of the Youth Services designed with them in mind. They can come up and learn to use various tablets, get on our Laptop Computers, or just hang out on the couch or bean bags and read a book. Copies of June and July calendars of events are available in the Youth Services section of the library, and information on specific events can be found at the Youth Services Department or by calling (928) 340-2788.
