Thank you and farewell
The Well Red Coyote bookstore will be closing on Feb. 15, 2015.
We've had a good 10-year run, bringing national and international bestselling authors to Sedona, supporting hundreds of local and regional authors, founding our own long-running monthly book discussion group, and hosting over two thousand events, including five Sedona Book Festivals.
We've run the full gamut of bookstore experiences - fiction and nonfiction book signings, poetry readings, writing workshops, cooking demonstrations, art presentations, live music performances, and more. And, we've made a lot of good friends along the way.
But, it's time to move on. The world of books has changed over the past 10 years and will continue to do so at an even quicker pace going forward.
Today's reality is that fewer people are reading books than ever before, and of those, most have chosen to shop online rather than buy from independent bookstores (a trend that has impacted virtually all retail consumer products, not just books).
All books in stock are discounted 25 percent. We're also selling all of our bookcases, fixtures, furniture and display pieces. Come on in and take advantage of our sale prices and/or make us an offer we can't refuse. Everything must go, literally.
If you have any books or gift items with us on consignment, please pick them up, or make arrangements to have them shipped to you. We will not assume any responsibility for consignment inventory after Feb, 15. If you wish, we can donate your unsold books to the Sedona Public Library at that time.
Outstanding, un-redeemed gift certificates will be honored for existing stock only - no special orders. Come in soon for the best selection. And, although we have always had a very liberal return policy, we will no longer be accepting returns.
As of now, we still have plans for the 2015 Sedona Book Festival and will keep you posted on the details if and when they develop.
Although our bookstore will be closing, Kris and I aren't going anywhere. Kris will continue her novel writing, her writing classes and her personal editing work. I will continue my music performances and special events.
Thank you for the support you have given and the friendships you have extended us over these years. We hope you will continue to be a part of our lives, and we yours, as we begin our next adventure, whatever that may be.
