From art shows, rummage for rescue and Thriftique - all inspired by Rosey
Red Rose Inspiration For Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c3 based in Sedona, which promotes Community-Organized Special Events for Animal Rescue. Established in 2009, Red Rose is entering their 10th season of promoting Art and Craft shows for the benefit of animals.
In the past there were two shows each in the spring and fall. This year they will have eight shows, four each in the spring and fall.
The first Art and Craft Show dates for 2014 will be March 15-16. Show times are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. These quality Art and Craft Shows are held at 1405 West State Route 89A, Sedona (Olde Sedona Bar and Grill parking area) and are not affiliated with any other shows or promoters.
In addition to the Art Shows, Red Rose will promote a very special event this year called "Rummage For Rescue." This event was designed as a collaborative effort to support other non-profit rescue organizations and to assist them in raising money for their cause. Each group is responsible for bringing items they wish to sell and all proceeds benefit each organization directly.
Red Rose promoted the first ever "Rummage For Rescue" in November 2013 with a total of 6 organizations participating and they raised close to $5,000. One particular rescue group, called Raven Pines, used all the money they received from the event to assist one very special little rescue pup named Riley. He had medical expenses due to a neurological disorder, but today he is doing great.
Founders of Raven Pines, Tim and Ellen were crying tears of joy that morning as they were scheduling the veterinarian appointment. Tina Allegrezza (Founder of Red Rose) says "Helping Raven Pines raise money to help sweet Riley was the highlight of my day."
The "Rummage For Rescue" events will be held April 12 and Oct. 4 in the Olde Sedona Bar and Grill parking area. Be sure to mark your calendar.
The desire to do more for these animals is great, but that requires additional funding. Therefore, Red Rose announced that they will be opening a Thrift Store and Artist Boutique creating a unique shop called the Red Rose Thriftique.
The Thriftique will be supported completely by a volunteer team which will allow 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit Red Rose and the FREE animal rescue programs they have created.
The Red Rose Thriftique will be opening soon at Bell Rock Plaza in the Village of Oak Creek.
Red Rose was inspired by a beautiful and beloved soul named Rosey. A Rottweiler/Pit-bull mix, she was not only loving and loyal but highly intelligent-she was a rescue pup herself.
Rosey was always sweet and sympathetic to dogs who were suffering with emotional problems. She worked with various dogs helping to rehabilitate them before she passed from cancer. Rosey's spirit lives on through Red Rose Inspiration for Animals, Inc.
The organization which was created in her honor focuses on saving the lives of various animals in need. It is because of these types of animals that Red Rose is planning to have a rehab/healing center in the future.
It will be a peaceful place where animals that need love and patience can develop and grow. The goal is to focus on disadvantaged felines and canines that need and deserve a second chance at life.
From the beginning Red Rose has made a difference through collaborative efforts they initiated with specific rescue organizations in the Verde Valley to spay and neuter pets.
They continue to provide partial or full funding for spay/neuter of both felines and canines. The majority of this funding is generated through Red Rose events. One of their goals is to end the homeless pet population in our community. Red Rose Inspiration for Animals has donated over $40,000.00 to animal rescue through spay/neuter, emergency medical and direct support to other specially selected animal related organizations.
The mission statement for Red Rose:
Red Rose Inspiration for Animals, Inc. is focused on saving abused, neglected, and homeless animals. We are dedicated to healing and rehabilitating canines who have suffered from emotional abuse helping them become adoptable. We are a no kill organization that promotes spay and neuter to make a difference in the over pet population of canines and felines. We promote programs that connect animals with people.
According to statistics one female dog and her offspring can be the source of 67,000 puppies in 6 years. Each female can have as many as 10-14 puppies per litter, twice a year. Each female puppy from that litter can also have 10-14 puppies.
One cat, her kittens and their offspring can produce half a million cats in a little more than seven years! There simply are not enough homes for them all. Spay and Neuter is the only solution to this problem.
Please help us in our efforts as we continue making a difference in animal rescue. We welcome your support at our sponsored events, our soon to be open Thriftique, and of course through your generous donations. Thank you!
