Rock band OvO performs Friday at Jerome's Spirit Room
The Spirit Room in Jerome will again host the band OvO, who recorded a live CD there two years ago.
OvO features Tommy Rocks of Jerome on lead vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, Dr. Kyle Scarborough from Dallas on keys and guitar phenom Joe Berger of New York City on lead guitar.
And this year's show brings an added treat: the rhythm section will feature Steve Botterweg on drums and vocals and Mike Klien on bass, guitar and vocals. Both are from Llory McDonald's band Combo Deluxe. You won't want to miss this show, and watch this great band back Joe Berger on guitar.
The band OvO formed four years ago, and plays two concerts per year in Arizona (their next show will be in Feb. 2015). They will perform some of Tommy's original music, as well as cover songs by bands such as The Who, Santana, Zappa, Zevon, Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles.
Guitarist Joe Berger has been mixing and playing guitar for prominent artists and touring with rock and jazz legends around the world for nearly four decades.
Just a few of the artists include John Entwistle (WHO), Jack Bruce (CREAM), Vangelis, John Anderson (YES), Billy Cobham, Jon Hammond, Brian Johnson & Cliff Williams (AC/DC), DREAMSTREET and many more. Joe has been demonstrating for audio companies at the NAMM and AES trade shows for more than 30 years, and performs each year in Germany at the renowned Musikmesse trade show.
Kyle Scarborough has played professionally in the Houston area for the past 22 years, playing keyboards for Diunna Greenleaf and Blue Mercy in Houston and Memphis. As a member of The Party Favors, he performed for major corporate galas throughout the Houston area, along with the July Fourth celebrations for the City of Richmond and a variety of local country clubs. He currently plays with Different Beast, providing entertainment in live music venues throughout the Houston area.
Singer Tommy Anderson (aka "Tommy Rocks") is well-known in Arizona, both as a solo acoustic rock performer, as well as with his side bands Ringo McLennonSon and The Beatless (www.MeetTheBeatless.com).
Tommy has also recently opened a music store in Jerome called "Tommy Rocks" (www.TommyRocks.com). Tommy will also be performing a solo show the following Tuesday at The Spirit Room.
OvO's double-live CD "Live from Ghost Town Studios" and "Live from The Spirit Room" are available at the show and at the "Tommy Rocks" music store in Jerome, located at 110 Main St. Ste. #6. The store is located 200 feet up the street from The Spirit Room, across the street from Grapes and down the steps in the New State Building. The store carries CDs of Arizona musicians, guitars, ukuleles, strings picks, sticks and accessories as well as autographed rock and roll memorabilia.
