Yavapai College open registration begins April 20
Open registration for Yavapai College summer and fall 2015 classes begins Monday, April 20 for all credit classes on all campuses.
Registration for continuing, degree-seeking students opens a week earlier on April 13. The summer session starts Monday, June 1, and the fall semester starts Monday, August 24.
Students must register and enroll online via the college web site, www.yc.edu. Anyone needing help with the process can visit the Answer Center on the Prescott or Verde Valley campus for in-person assistance. The Prescott Campus is located at 1100 E. Sheldon St., and the Verde Valley Campus is located at 601 Black Hills Drive in Clarkdale.
Hundreds of classes in dozens of programs are available. "Many classes fill quickly," says Yavapai College Registrar Sheila Jarrell, "so sign up early for the best selection of classes."
College offerings include more than 30 degree programs and some 50 certificate programs, a list of which is available at www.yc.edu/academics/degrees-and-certificates. Many courses are available online, and some degree programs can be completed totally online.
Fall semester tuition, which includes fees that many other colleges charge extra for, starts at $75 per credit hour for most classes. Courses that require labs and/or special materials are $86-$96 per credit hour, and specialty courses such as nursing, emergency medical services or radiology, range upwards from $105 per credit hour. Tuition for summer session classes starts at the current, lower rate of $72 per credit hour.
The college also offers non-credit community education and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) courses for those pursuing education for personal enrichment. More information about these non-credit courses is available online at www.campusce.net/YC/category/category.aspx or by calling (928) 717-7607 or (928) 649-5550 in the Verde Valley
