Obituary: Jack R Laymon 1947 - 2014
Jack R Laymon passed away on Tuesday December 24, 2014 at the age of 67. He died peacefully in his sleep at the home of a dear friend in Camp Verde, Arizona.
He is survived by his son John, daughter Glenna, grandsons Kaleb, Nathan, granddaughter Emily, brother Jim, sister Linda Webb, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born September 24, 1947 in Gore, Arkansas and was orphaned in infancy at only 8 weeks old. Jack and his two brothers and his sister were moved to Hector, Oklahoma where they were raised by their maternal grandparents.
Jack was a lifelong member of the Operating Engineers Union and spent many years as a heavy crane operator, having worked in several foreign countries.
Jack came from humble beginnings, never amassing a great deal of wealth. He was a humble straight talking person. He retired to the Verde Valley 9 years ago and made a multitude of friends.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, warm country personality and as a person you could call upon when you were in need of help.
Jack's word was his bond.
