Obituary: Marilyn Swenson 1929 - 2014

Marilyn Swenson was born to May and Bob Sjoselius April 2, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She grew up in Duluth, Minnesota, enjoying the woods and lakes. Marilyn graduated from the University of Minnesota and taught school in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

She met her future husband Jack, at the University of Minnesota. They married August 14, 1955. They lived in New Jersey, Grinnell, Iowa, and Flagstaff, Arizona, then moved to Cottonwood, Arizona 4.5 years ago.

Her greatest joy was time with her family. She and Jack have 3 children; Lonna Culbertson (Hank), Kirk Swenson (Jian), Laurie Frost (Joe), and 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The grandchildren's names are Craig, Derek, Angela, Michelle, Kai, Keane, Joshua, Caleb & Luke. The great grandchildren's names are Jack and Lannaea.

The years her husband was a pastor, Marilyn enjoyed helping people and was a volunteer at the Sunshine Rescue Mission in Flagstaff. She enjoyed painting.

She became a Christian at a young age and with her many health problems in later years, looked forward to being with her Savior and Lord in Heaven.

Marilyn went to Heaven December 17, 2014. At her request there will be a small gathering of close friends and family, to sing her favorite songs and scatter her ashes by the Verde River she loved. We will all miss Marilyn, but we know she is in Heaven with her Savior Jesus and is not suffering any more.
