Verde Valley Fire rescues teen
CORNVILLE--Just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Verde Valley Fire District was sent to a medical emergency on a narrow trail off Oak Creek Valley. The crews arrive and quickly realized the patient was about 1.5 miles off of Oak Creek Valley and request additional resources including Trail Rescue 311 to assist. Once the crew made contact with the 15-year old girl patient, they administered medical treatment and transported her on the Trail Rescue unit to an awaiting ambulance and then to Verde Valley Medical Center. The patient was apparently off-road cycling with friends when her medical symptoms started. A reminder to all is always having your emergency medication with you at all times. Four VVFD apparatus and six personal were needed to handle the call.
