Emergency crews respond to a trio of rollover accidents
BEAVER CREEK -- Just after 3 p.m. Monday, Montezuma-Rimrock Fire District was dispatched to a rollover accident on Beaver Creek Road. Crews found a SUV that had suffered heavy damage in a high speed rollover accident with four occupants.
None were properly restrained in the vehicle and all suffered injuries. Two 4-year old boys were flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital. With the help of Camp Verde Fire District ambulance, there was also an adult woman and a 9-year old girl transported to Verde Valley Medical Center.
SEDONA -- There was another rollover accident occurred just before 4 a.m. Tuesday morning.
This accident occurred on Interstate 17 at MP 306 north of the Sedona interchange. Emergency responders say the accident was the result of a tired driver. After dozing off, the woman rolled her truck into the trees but fortunately only sustained minor injuries.
She was transported to Verde Valley Medical Center by ambulance.
BEAVER CREEK -- A third rollover accident occurred Tuesday afternoon at about 2 p.m. on I-17, mile post 293 south bound at the McGuireville interchange. The driver in this accident was distracted by pets in her vehicle and ran off the road rolling her SUV. The accident blocked part of the slow lane.
Traffic was restricted to one lane of travel for the duration of the incident. The driver was treated for minor injuries on scene and was then transported to Verde Valley Medical Center. As a result of accident one of her dogs received severe injuries and was taken by DPS to the Sedona Humane Society. The second dog ran off and was unable to be located.
