Sedona Community Farmers Market celebrates winter season
Sedona Community Farmers Market's winter season opens on Sunday, Nov. 8 from noon until 4 p.m. and will be open to the public weekly through mid-May.
The winter market is located at 2201 W State Route 89A in West Sedona, otherwise known as Wells Fargo Bank parking lot. Residents and visitors alike are invited to meet local and regional food growers and artisan producers. This season the market is proud to double its winter vegetable offerings from last year.
Offerings include freshly picked local and Arizona seasonal fruits and vegetables, Arizona certified organic citrus, sprouts and micro-greens, raw honey and beeswax, freshly milled breads and pastries, grass-fed beef, eggs, pecans, dates, Arizona apples, gluten free items, fresh juices, hot chai and coffees, herbal remedies, hot burritos and paninis, jams and jellies, raw truffles and chocolates, freshly milled breads and pastries, gluten free, goat milk soaps and lotions, local lavender products, heirloom seeds and much more.
The featured musician on Nov. 8, is the talented Alex Ogburn.
"The market aims to support local sustainable agricultural activity and increase the supply of locally grown food. Local food is not only fresher, it also preserves genetic diversity, promotes energy conservation, supports local farm families, builds community, preserves open space, supports a clean environment and benefits wildlife," says founding director Katrin Themlitz.
