Obituary: Joshua Dustin Westcott

1976-2015

1976-2015

On November 23, 2015 Joshua passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side.

Born November 22, 1976, Josh lived a short 39 years and 1 day but left an impression to last 100 years.

He was born and raised in Cottonwood AZ to Diane Lee Westcott (deceased).

A 1996 Mingus Union High School graduate, Josh had many friends from all different walks of life.

You may have first met him in the Theatre Department at MUHS, running their audio and visual equipment.

Maybe he passed you in that red Ford F-150, blasting his stereo through town. That truck, his pride and joy, until his son Zachary was born.

Perhaps you met him at a car club event, or at a music venue.

Joshua had passion for music and Diane was so proud of her son, being a guitar player in a band before he was 15.

He also played drums, but in the end his passion was the bass. He played in many different bands over the years, most recently Raw Dog.

You may have met him working at the casino for the Yavapai-Apache Gaming Commission, where Josh spent many years meeting and gaining new friends and connecting with his Yavapai-Apache relatives.

Anywhere you would have met Josh, he left an impression on you.

He was all about family, friends, laughter and music.

He had an impeccable gift to make you laugh at the worst of times and never had an enemy.

He was raised by his Mother Diane and Grandparents Howard and Laverne Westcott.

As a child and teenager he helped with the family business; Westcott Funeral Home.

He spent many days with his aunts and uncles and grew up with his many, many cousins.

Joshua is survived by his son Zachary, his wife Wendy and her children Hayley and Deion Totten.

He is also survived by Zach's mom, Andrea Munoz, Zach's sister Olivia and his extended family, whom he helped raise, Arturo and Tricia along with her children Alexa and Silas.

Joshua is also survived by his numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins in the Westcott and Pusher family. Joshua's heart was bigger than life itself. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for them, whether rescuing you while in crisis or just a joke and hug to make you smile when you were down.

He is now our guardian angel, watching over us.

Services are Friday November 27th 11:00 Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood AZ, followed by a burial at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale.

After the services the family invites you to a potluck Celebration of Joshua at the Elks Lodge in Clarkdale from 2-5. Please bring a memory, picture, and dish to share.
