Major storm, flood threat, heading toward Arizona
Flooding is in store for parts of the state and flash flood warnings elsewhere.
Tropical storm 16e is going to push tropical moisture into Arizona through the Baja. But there is a low pressure system off the West Coast colliding with a high pressure system to the north.
The morning rainfall in the Verde Valley is predicted to range from 40 percent Monday morning, 60 percent Monday evening and Tuesday morning and and 60 percent Tuesday through Wednesday.
Heavy rain and flash flooding is predicted in the Verde Valley Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Rainfall accumulations of 1.5 inches to 2.5 inches is expected along and below the Mogollon Rim. Some predictions call for as much as 4 inches of rain in some areas of Phoenix.
A flash flood watch is in effect throughout the southern two-thirds of the state.
