Town of 4,000 offers flurry of festive fun
CLARKDALE – Never let it be said that there is nothing to do in Clarkdale this December. The town of about 4,000 residents is serving-up a platter of holiday events for 2016.
Dec. 1 - 4 - Made In Clarkdale December Art Show
An all-new format this year will showcase over 40 artists who will display and discuss their work at the 30th Annual Made In Clarkdale December Art Show. Attendees have the opportunity to check-off their holiday gift list by purchasing original artwork, paintings, sculpture, pottery and hand-crafted items.
Friday night’s Gala Celebration features food, wine, beer and drink available for purchase from Clarkdale Business Alliance Members.
Live music is featured nightly. Friday night, The Janice Paul Trio plays jazz music from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For a mixed-bag of up-tempo fun, check-out The Jerome Ukulele Orchestra on Saturday night from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The 30th Made In Clarkdale December Art Show takes place Thursday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 4 at Clark Memorial Clubhouse, 39 S. 9th St., Clarkdale. Event hours are Thursday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and donations are encouraged.

Dec. 9 - Santa comes to the Clark Memorial Clubhouse
Santa pays a visit to Clarkdale on Friday, Dec. 9 between noon and 2 p.m. at the Clark Memorial Clubhouse-Men’s Lounge, 39 S. 9th St.
Children can visit and have their picture taken with Santa, as well as enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. As a special treat, children will have an opportunity to create an ornament to hang on the Town Park Tree, thanks to the help of Made In Clarkdale artists.

Dec. 16 - Holiday caroling at the Town Park Gazebo
Join friends and neighbors at Clarkdale Town Park for this community sing-along of festive songs of the season.
Free song lyrics and hot chocolate will be provided courtesy of the Town of Clarkdale. Attendees are asked to bring a flashlight and dress according to the weather.
The event is free and begins at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16 at the Clarkdale Town Park Gazebo, 1001 Main St. For more information, call 928-639-2460.
