Henry ‘Hank’ Hoover

Henry "Hank" Hoover, 87, passed away Sunday, February, 28, 2016 in Cottonwood. He was born January 6, 1929 in Buffalo, Missouri and is proceeded in death by his parents Henry Floyd Hoover and Florence Jackson.

Hank is survived by his wife Mary (married 52 years), his four children: Donna Duke, Michael Hoover, David Hoover and Paul Hoover; eight grandchildren: Patricia Fitzsimmons, Elicia Saville, Donna "Mickey" Jackson, Kathleen Schwaab, Jeffrey Hoover, Heidi Montrelli, Joshua Hoover and Lauren Hoover; twelve great grandchildren: Katie Segura, Jared Montrelli, Zachary Fitzsimmons, Brittany Ayala-Patlan, James Gonzales, Jacob Gonzales, Kyle Pearson, Daniel Gomez, Jeremy Jackson, Brianna Gomez, Cecily Jackson, and Lillian Schwaab and one great, great grandchild, Leland Gomez.

Hank was a resident of Camp Verde for 32 years. Prior to that he worked for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for over 30 years, mostly patrolling coastal waters enforcing fish and game law. Hank retired as a Captain, commanding a 65 foot vessel (Albacore) and crew out of Long Beach, CA.

"Captain Hank" will be remembered for his endless sense of humor and stories. A lifetime hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors, tending his garden, following the GOP and watching westerns.

He will be sorely missed by his numerous friends and family. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 11 am at Bueler Funeral Home in Camp Verde.
