Christine Burdette takes top honors in Oakcreek Country Club's President's Cup
Christine Burdette is the winner of the President's Cup, an Oakcreek Country Club Woman's Golf Association yearly tournament.
This event is a low net competition held over two Tuesdays around President's Day! Christine took the prize with an overall low net score of 143.
She has never won a major tournament so she is delighted with her effort. It just goes to show that we don't get older, we just get better!
Christine and her husband, Eddie, grew up in Phoenix and spent their honeymoon in Sedona in 1959. She shared that there were no golf courses and there was no Village of Oakcreek -- only a stop sign at the "Y."
When they retired in 2006 they built their dream home on the 17th hole of the golf course and joined OCC in 2007.
This tournament was comprised of three flights. Flight 1: Liz Chang placed first with a score of 145 and Alison Wheeler came in second with a 148. Flight 2: Dawn Bush placed first with 155 and Barbara Erickson with a 157. Flight 3: Connie Rupiper scored a 149 and Carol Meiner a 151.
