Military Park set to open Nov. 11

The flagpoles are set in cement for the new The Verde Valley Military Service Park Tuesday. The Park will have a Ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Nov 11 at 1 p.m. at Garrison Park, behind the County building on 6th St and Mingus Ave. The opening ceremony and military park is the result of 20 months of hard work by a dedicated group of Verde Valley residents. The Verde Valley Military Service Park will have a Ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Nov 11 at 1 p.m. at Garrison Park, behind the County building on 6th St and Mingus Ave. The ceremony will include raising of the12-by-18 foot United States Flag and the five Military Service Flags, plus the unveiling of the Bronze Military Service Dog Statue. This will complete Phase 1 of the park, with Phase 2 in the planning stages.
