How to use the Verde Valley Shopping Passport for last minute gifts
VERDE VALLEY – If you still have last minute gifts to buy, consider supporting local businesses instead of buying online or traveling to a mall.
This year, Local First Arizona is hosting the Verde Valley Holiday Shopping Passport Campaign which runs through Jan. 1, 2018.
‘Keep money circulating locally’
Local First Arizona is working to increase customer traffic to local independent businesses this holiday season with the Verde Valley Holiday Shopping Passport.
“Let us help you find special gifts and holiday celebration needs while exploring Verde Valley retail locations at the same time,” stated a Local First Arizona in a press release.
Last year the program brought nearly $30,000 to downtown businesses in Flagstaff.
“We hope to replicate this successful holiday program in the Verde Valley and educate consumers on the importance of shopping in locally owned, independent businesses for holiday gifts, decorations, and personal celebrations. We will be linking arms with you and the independent business community to drive more sales into our community and to keep money circulating locally,” said Local First Arizona.
How it works
Pick up a free shopping passport at one of the designated locations. Shop in at least five of the 23 participating businesses or spend at least $150 to be eligible for prizes including $200 cash and eight $25 to $150 shopping sprees. Ask each business for a passport sticker and to record the amount spent. Then submit the passport and completed entry form to any of the participating businesses. Prizes will be announced at the Local First Arizona Mixer on Jan. 10, 2018 at Clarkdale Kayak Company. You do not need to be present to win. Nine winners will be selected.
