Muir, which is a tribute to all women who have served in America’s Armed Forces and every woman who serves our great country in any capacity. The Bronze is life-sized and depicts a young woman in her Army uniform inspired by SSG, Tiffany Kravec-Kelly who authored the following poem:
This long day is waning,
With many more to come,
Mission Dust lingers…
Like a powder-fine shadow
On boots, hands, face and Heart
For when we could not-
A tear may now be shed;
For the lonely joy and sadness,
Disappointments and pain…
For the pride and the Courage
To see it thru ... again.
The sculpture will be dedicated in the Jamesen Memorial Sculpture Park on Memorial Day along with other festivities. The park is located at the South West corner of SR 89A and Northview Road in West Sedona adjacent the Bank of America. Individuals and organizations who contribute a specific amount will have their names engraved on a plaque beside the sculpture as Friends of Jack Jamesen Memorial Sculpture Park.
