Lumberjack football opens fall camp on Wednesday
FLAGSTAFF – The Northern Arizona football team will open its first fall camp under head coach Chris Ball on Wednesday, July 31 with the initial of 22 practices leading up to the 2019 season opener vs. Missouri State on Thursday, August 29 at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome.
All practices during fall camp will take place at the Skydome Outdoor Practice Field or inside the Walkup Skydome and are open to the public and offer free admission.
The Lumberjacks have three scrimmages listed on the fall camp schedule beginning on Saturday, August 10. NAU will also feature full-contact game preparation on Wednesday, August 14 and Saturday, August 17.
The Lumberjacks return 20 starters and 35 letterwinners from last season’s squad, including senior quarterback Case Cookus, who boasts 7,968 passing yards and 74 touchdown passes in his career.
NAU will be led by first-year head coach Ball, who took over the reins of the Lumberjack program this offseason. Ball brings over 30 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level and will be joined by a staff that features seven assistant coaches also entering their initial season with the ‘Jacks.
The Lumberjacks open the 2019 season at home against Missouri State on Thursday, August 29 in a 6 p.m. MST kickoff from the Walkup Skydome.
