Letter: Our democracy is in danger right now

Editor:

I watched Senator Sinema, along with the rest of her colleagues, take the oath of office today at the Impeachment Trial of the president, to solemnly swear to do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.

I implore her to take this obligation seriously and represent her Arizona constituents (of which I am one of them) appropriately. All evidence should be reviewed and witnesses should be allowed to testify. Once she’s heard all of the testimony, I expect that she will vote fairly and impartially.

I am looking forward to watching the impeachment trial and learning all of the evidence, which will help me make a determination as to the guilt or innocence of this president. Our democracy is in danger right now and I am expecting Senator Sinema to do everything in her power to protect it as the senior senator from Arizona.
