Protest group tells Yavapai County ‘no means no’ on new jail issue

About 60 people gathered at the Yavapai County Juvenile Justice Center along Prescott Lakes Parkway on Friday, July 17, 2020, to protest the county’s plans to build a 144-bed jail nearby. The protesters, who carried signs urging the county to rethink the jail plans, walked around the roundabout intersection on the parkway before driving downtown and circling the Yavapai County Courthouse.
