The art exhibits in the Cottonwood Council Chambers, located at 826 N. Main St. in Old Town Cottonwood, will feature the work of artists Vada Lovato and Brenda Strom.
Access to exhibit will be next door, through the City Clerk’s office, 824 N. Main Street.
Vada Lovato’s paintings combine the real world with the imagined, while using personal and spiritual symbols.
She was the featured Artist in Action at the Palm Springs Art Museum in February of 2006 and the Fort Verde Days Art Show in 2009.
Lovato is a juried member and past president of the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society. She’s also a member of the El Valle Artists Association, which is a local art community for the Verde Valley.
Brenda Strom passed away in 2017. She always wanted to paint, even as a young child, and described her painting style as, “impressionistic representational.”
Strom picked her subjects by the feelings they invoked in her. She was moved by color, beautiful nature scenes and the play of light.
Strom was a member of El Valle for more than 12 years before her passing in 2017.
